[Note: No Bookings for 2022 Season] This stunning contemporary home is situated in the most beautiful area of PEI in the middle of the iconic “Anne’s Land” which Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote of in her series “Anne of Green Gables”. The front of the house is a wall of windows with spectacular views over the Sou’West River and the rolling hills beyond. There are two pergolas which will provide you with some shade to enjoy your morning coffee before you get on with your day. The deck is large and perfect for an evening gathering to watch the sun go down over the river. There is a fire pit out front to enjoy a bonfire while recounting the activities of your day and to plan what to do next. There is also a large hammock to relax in as you take some time to enjoy the beauty of the area.
We are close to so many activities. If you are a lover of the beach, there are several within just a few minutes drive. There are world-class golf courses nearby as well. The most popular tourist attractions are all within a half hour drive. The nearest town is Kensington (10 minutes) and here you will find grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. The two cities, Summerside and Charlottetown are just 30-40 minutes drive. This is the perfect home to use as a base for an unforgettable Island vacation.
As you enter the home, you will see a lovely area to drop your bags, coolers, etc. We provide beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler and some beach toys. The laundry area is conveniently located as you come into the house. The first thing you will notice as you come into the main living area is the huge wall of windows overlooking the view. The home boasts an open concept that has a cozy feel. You can enjoy our gas fireplace if you so desire. We ask that you keep doors and windows closed to maximize the air conditioning. Also, please turn up the temperature of the A/C when you are not in the house. We find that a temperature setting of 21-23 is more than sufficient to keep the home comfortable.
The furniture is modern and comfortable. You will find a large 55” TV above the fireplace to enjoy on the days you want some downtime. There is high speed FibreOp in the home so streaming is fast and there is no lag time when watching Netflix, etc. The kitchen is also open to the dining and living areas. There is a walk in pantry and all of your needs for dining and entertaining are available for your use. Pantry items are there if you find you need something, no need to buy items that you might only need once. The stove and oven are gas and are perfect for the home cook. There is a barbeque on the deck and there is also a propane cooker and pot provided so you can cook seafood in the outdoors (please cook it outdoors to keep the odor out of the house). You can buy fresh seafood close buy, fresh from the ocean!
The home is completely wheelchair accessible on the main level of the house. The master suite is just off the living room and you will have the same wonderful view over the river. There is a door that will lead right out to the pergola-covered deck area. There is a large closet and a gorgeous master ensuite with a shower room and huge soaker tub with a window that overlooks the countryside. There is also a TV mounted on the wall for your use.
Downstairs, you will find a large open room that has a Lazy-Boy sectional pull-out queen bed with an incredibly comfortable mattress. The top can be filled with air for extra comfort. The sheets are stored in the ottoman if you need to use this extra sleeping area. The television on the wall has full access to all taped programs and satellite programs, the same as on the TVs upstairs. There is a home gym in this room with a recumbent bike, a weight machine, a TRX system and exercise area.
There are two bedrooms with a comfortable queen bed in each. There is a large closet in each of the rooms. The main bathroom is shared in the downstairs living area and has a large one-piece shower/tub.
